- Hi, I'm Shauna Smith Yates, and today I'm gonna be taking you through a workout that not only strengthens your body but strengthens your brain as well. So we know exercise is good for your body but exercise also helps us to keep our brain building and growing strong. So in this workout, you're gonna see a lot of contralateral movements, meaning opposite arm to leg. A lot of reciprocal movements, and a lot of crossing the midline, all things that are really good for your brain, and some coordination as well. So the first thing I'm gonna have you do is start with a nice straight spine, hands right underneath your shoulders. Abs engaged, we're gonna into a bird dog, so you're going to lift one arm and the opposite leg up, finding your balance. Go ahead and bring your chest back to center, bend that back knee in, and as you push that back knee out behind you, rotate again towards that front leg. And two. Both legs out, bring them both up. Now we're gonna go into the scissors so the strap leg will go away, the other leg reaches up and then switch. Two, like we're walking.
